Acupuncture and Infertility Through The Ages

In: Health & Fitness

The historical evolution of acupuncture is not entirely clear. It appears that it had its origins in China at a time when the distance weapon of choice was the bow and arrow.

According to one legendĀ  when some soldiers were hurt in battle by arrows, they noticed that prior injuries around that area suddenly got better. This led, of course, to many primitive research studies involving sticking sharp objects into people’s skins.

Whether this account is true, only a time traveler knows for sure. But, in the interim, there have been many validated studies linking acupuncture and infertility treatments together. In addition, acupuncture has been used by some cultures for years to help treat infertility.

The modern research studies simply help to prove that the inclination of the people in these sometimes primitive cultures were not totally off the mark.
