5 Aug 2009Good news, drinking a moderate amount of coffee may be good for your health according to some recent studies. These studies show it can prove helpful against things like cancer, strokes and dementia.
According to a 13 year study in Japan those who drank one or more cups of coffee a day had half the chance of developing cancer of the esophagus, pharynx and mouth compared to those who didn’t drink any.
In another study that took place over 24 years, non-smoking women who drank 2-3 cups a day had almost 20% less of a chance of suffering from a stroke. These women were compared to others drinking less than one cup a month.
It may also help your protect your neurons. Middle-aged people who stated drinking 3 cups a day were shown to be 65% less likely to show signs of Alzheimer’s or dementia by the time they reached their late sixties to seventies. Although 3 cups may be too much caffeine for some in a day.
A moderate amount of coffee every day may be beneficial for us, so break out your electric coffee maker and brew up a fresh pot.
