Kitten Training – The Basics
For some the sound of training a cat or training a kitten sounds pretty difficult since they are known to have a mind of their own. But if you start when they are young and be prepared with a certain level of patience kitten training doesn’t have to be such a difficult task.
One of the first things your will want to train your kitten is how to use the litter box, if she doesn’t already know. They naturally want to scratch when they go to the bathroom so you just need to help them along a little. Place them in the litter box every couple of hours until you see them start to use it on their own regularly.
Other things you will probably want to kitten train include staying out of the plants, off the curtains and off the counters. Many people have effectively used water bottles or water guns for these types of things, but be careful that the kitten doesn’t get too wet or spend time in a drafty area because they are more susceptible to upper respiratory infections. Or you may want to use a loud noise that’s not associated to you, like putting coins in a can and startling her when she digs in the plant so there is an unpleasant feeling associated with that behavior. But don’t hit or yell at your kitten, that will make her scared of you and it will make her more anxious in general.

Keeping a Goldfish
While it is true that most people looking for a pet are likely to go shopping for a new puppy or kitten, the truth is that for so many of us our first pet was likely a goldfish. Confined to their tiny goldfish bowls, these little aquatic critters are ridiculously easy to take care of; requiring just a feeding once a day and the occasional cleaning of the tank. Even more important, they are dirt cheap as far as pets go, costing almost always less than five dollars and often times they can be obtained for free at fairs, carnivals, and other events geared toward children. Peripheral costs are almost always confined to inexpensive items as well and quite literally a three month supply of food, multiple goldfish bowls, and all the accessories that go with them can be had for less than twenty dollars. So if you are looking for an easy to care for pet for either you or maybe even your kids, then you might want to consider a pet goldfish before shelling out the big bucks for something furry, smelly, and messy.
