a wealth of information to feed your curiosity
This exclusive perfume from the luxury goods brand Ormonde Jayne was launched in a very limited edition in October 2009, and then in less limited quantities from November 2009 onwards. This fragrance takes its name from Tiare, a Polynesian flower, also known as Tahitian Gardenia, a very aromatic semi-fruity flower, which is a very common ingredient in some tropical tanning oils. This particular ingredient was so rare that the launch of the perfume had to be put off for three weeks due to a delay in the harvest if the gardenias.
The opening notes for this perfume are citrus, bergamot at the very beginning, evolving towards lemon blossom after a couple of minutes. The citrus notes become sweeter after about fifteen minutes, thanks to a subtle trace of honey (very similar to the one in Happy perfume by Clinique).
In the middle phase, after about one hour, all is ready for the display of elegant gardenia notes, with some traces of jasmine. These floral notes are mixed with a light trace of honey, which can also be seen as a natural evolution of the sweetness of gardenias. Although with more expensive flowers, this particular mix reminds of Nina Ricci perfume l’air du Temps.
In the base notes, after about three hours, the fragrance becomes more stable in its intensity, with gardenia still dominant, and even some traces of wood.
This Tiare by Ormonde Jayne is a very elegant and feminine perfume. The tropical flowers make it more suitable for a spring and summer use, even though it can be used all year round. All in all, it’s more at ease during the day. In an office environment it projects a clean and professional image. For a night out, like all floral fragrances, it is more suitable for a informal reunion with close friends, where there is no need to draw attention.
