Rosacea Treatment and Prevention Tip: Sunscreen

In: Health & Fitness

By far, the most common culprit in triggering a rosacea flareup for people with all levels of rosacea is exposure to the sun. This is a rather complicated scenario then, since it’s obviously very hard to avoid being exposed to the sun if you live any semblance of a normal life. For those individuals dealing with rosacea, what is the best way to proceed?

It’s not a groundbreaking suggestion, but common sense rarely ever is. I’m talking about using sunscreen regularly, habitually, as part of ones rosacea treatment or rosacea prevention lifestyle. For many people, incorporating sunscreen protection has become part of their morning ritual, right after brushing their teeth before walking out the door to leave for work.

Most people will do fine with something like SPF 15. A relatively light sunscreen is good if it’s going to be used all the time.

Additionally, be sure to keep a hat in your car or purse at all times, along with a scarf. The more adventurous among us can also use an umbrella to mask the sun.

The important thing is to take action and be sure to protect yourself. The simplest way is to apply sunscreen!
